What does a Business Development Rep do? Primarily they are tasked with developing
and diversifying business so that income increases, and the future and growth of the
organization are guaranteed.
A Business Development Rep requires a range of skills and capacities that centre on
the best strategic and financial outcomes for the organization. Suitable candidates may
come from a range of industries; they will need to be able to communicate with a
diverse client portfolio.
A Business Development Rep is a senior role, and as such has some important duties
and responsibilities to fulfill, with both short and long-term goals to achieve. Below are
some of the required tasks and skills required.

  • Developing growth strategies and plans
  • Managing and retaining relationships with existing clients
  • Increasing client base
  • Having an in-depth knowledge of business products and value proposition
  • Writing business proposals
